Hawk - Flashcard and Short Range Wired Data Links When performing any kind of well test often the data needs to be frequently downloaded while the test is going on. To facitlate these needs CalScan has devloped several methods of programming and downloading data. Using the onboard intrically safe Secure Digtal flash card your operators can safetly download alll information in minutes by just inserting it into the Hawks SD card slot. Once more it can also be used to update programming informations such as the orfice plate size. If a wired connection is need for a permament link to a SCADA system or a temporary to a laptop CalScan's Raven Haznet RS485 technology allows a simple safe intrincialy safe link. This allows a realtime data link even when perforating guns are being used. Finally we have a simple RS232 and USB interface box for programming and downloading the guage when no real-time connection is needed. SD FlashCard Interface Imagine if it is -40°C or if its raining, using a laptop and waiting 30 minutes to download the data off the well head is dangerous and not a lot of fun. In response Calscan has developed a fully hazardous locations approved SD card interface that gives the Hawk has the ability to quickly download at over 250 kilobits per second without worrying about safety.
With a built intrinsically safe SD flash card slot the Hawk is easy to download in the field where a hazardous atmosphere may be present. All the operator has to do is unscrew the lid and insert the SD card into the Hawk. The standard 8 megabytes of data would only take about 5 minutes to download. Raven Haznet RS485 Barrier The Hawk9000 with the optional Haznet RS-485 card can be remotely monitored using a Raven HazNet RS-485 Barrier, allowing real-time data to be logged and graphed on a laptop. The Raven is more than just a communication interface, it is a CSA/UL approved device the protects the Hawk from any power surges or spikes from a external computer or RTU that could cause an explosion.
If you need to monitor more than one Hawk at the same time they can be daisy chained together and all the data viewed on a laptop. USB and Serial Interface Box All of Cal-Scan's products use the same software and communication box to program and download the surface box and downhole recorders, thus minimizing the amount of time and equipment needed to use Cal-Scan's products.
CalScan's serial RS232 and USB interface box By using a windows interface it makes programming and downloading a lot more user friendly than having to use a simple display and the two buttons on the Hawk itself.
