CalScan History

Leduc No. 1

Leduc #1 the first oil well in Alberta was drilled in 1947. It capped in 1974, after producing 300,000 barrels of oil and 9 million cubic metres of natural gas

Founded in 1995, Calscan Solutions began doing custom reporting and calibration of oilfield downhole sensors. The company quickly developed a reputation for dependable service, and calibrations that outperformed the original manufacturers.

It was only natural that in 1996, Calscan started working with major gauge manufacturers to help develop one of the first precision electronic gauges. Since 1998 Calscan has been developing many precision data logging tools, accessories, and software in order to satisfy the needs of the oil industry.

Calscan still maintains the same friendly, reliable, quick, and knowledgeable service they built the company on, and they have now grown to employ over 30 people. To accommodate its growth, Calscan expanded to their new facility in September, 2006.

Calscan Solutions sells globally; our tools are used in many of the major oil fields of the world: Saudi Arabia, Texas, Gulf of Mexico, Malaysia, Australia, Venezuela, China, and of course, at home in Alberta.
